National Signing Day is on Feb. 4 and the SEC is primed to bring in another impressive haul of top recruits in the 2015 recruiting class.

In the next 25 days, Saturday Down South counts down the top 25 recruits either committed to the SEC or strongly considering SEC schools.

No. 9 Terry Beckner, Jr.

Position: Defensive Tackle
247Sports ranking: No. 13 overall; No. 1 overall in Illinois
Committed: Looking at Missouri, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Florida State

The skinny: Terry Beckner has it all. His 6-4, 290-pound frame oozes potential and massive upside, and his film jumps out at you immediately. He’s quick, powerful and explosive, everything anyone needs along the defensive line. Beckner’s quickness off the snap is rare, and he has violent and powerful hands all defensive coordinators covet. Although he’s listed as a tackle in high school, he could blow into a nasty defensive end, depending on which scheme he fits into. Becker isn’t just a run stopper, but he can really get after the quarterback in the backfield and cause some havoc.

Freshman projection: Missouri can’t let Terry Beckner get away. While Mizzou isn’t known for landing five-star prospects every year, the Tigers’ developmental system could make Beckner a future No. 1 pick. Beckner will fit into any defensive line rotation and make an impact. It’s rare for freshmen defensive linemen to make much of an impact in the first year, but a handful have been known to make immediate splashes. Myles Garrett and Derek Barnette are two players come to mind who did it in 2014.
